Telegram bot development for business

A Telegram bot is a small application inside a messenger that many of your customers and staff already use. It can take enquiries, show a catalog, accept bookings and payments, answer frequent questions, send notifications and pass complex cases to a person. We build bots around one clear scenario first and extend them as it becomes clear what people actually ask for.

In short

In short

  1. 01

Telegram's Bot API is free and open, which makes bots quick to build and cheap to run.

  2. 02

Bots can use buttons, forms, menus and Mini Apps — full web interfaces inside Telegram.

  3. 03

Payments inside a bot go through supported payment providers; availability depends on the provider and your market.

  4. 04

A bot should know its limits: anything outside its scenario goes to a person with the conversation history.

  5. 05

Enquiries from the bot go straight into your CRM with their source.

Scope

What businesses use Telegram bots for

  • Enquiries and lead qualification: the bot asks a few questions in order and sends a complete enquiry to the CRM.
  • Orders and catalogs: browsing products or menus, building an order, choosing delivery.
  • Bookings: available slots for a service or specialist, confirmation and reminders. See online booking systems.
  • Support: answers to frequent questions, order status, handover to an operator.
  • Notifications: order updates, reminders, alerts — to customers who subscribed.
  • Internal processes: requests from branches, approvals, daily reports, alerts for staff.

Mini Apps

For interfaces richer than buttons, Telegram supports Mini Apps — web applications that open inside the chat. They are useful for catalogs, forms with many fields, booking calendars and personal accounts. A Mini App is built with standard web technologies and can share its backend with your website.

Payments

Telegram supports payments inside bots through connected payment providers, and bots can also send customers to a payment page of your own provider. Which route works for you depends on the providers available for your business and currency. We describe the options in Telegram bot payments.

How we build a bot

  1. Scenario and entry points. The most frequent task the bot should handle, and where users will find it: the website, Instagram, QR codes, a channel.
  2. Dialogue design. Steps, buttons, messages and error handling, written in the language your customers use. See designing chatbot scenarios.
  3. Integrations. CRM, catalog, booking system, payments, notifications for staff.
  4. Operator handover. When the bot cannot help, it passes the conversation to a person — in a staff group, a CRM chat or a helpdesk — with the full history.
  5. Launch and refinement. We watch real conversations, find where users get stuck and improve the flow.

AI in bots

A bot can use a language model to understand free-text questions and answer from your documents, price lists and policies. The important rule is that it answers only from your data and admits when it does not know. See AI assistants.

Telegram or WhatsApp?

In Azerbaijan both messengers are widely used, with different strengths: Telegram's Bot API is free and flexible; WhatsApp is where many customers already talk to businesses, but its Business Platform charges for template messages and has stricter rules. Many businesses run both from one backend. The comparison is in Telegram bot vs WhatsApp bot.

What we need from you

  • The questions customers ask most often, or the process the bot should handle.
  • Where the answers and data live: documents, price lists, CRM, booking system.
  • Who takes over when the bot cannot help, and their working hours.
  • A Telegram account for creating the bot under your company's control.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do users need to install anything?

Only Telegram. The bot opens from a link or QR code, and Mini Apps run inside Telegram without separate installation.

Can the bot speak Azerbaijani, Russian and English?

Yes. The bot can ask for the preferred language at the start or detect it from the user's Telegram settings, and all texts are maintained per language.

Who owns the bot?

The bot should be created under an account your company controls, with its token stored securely. We recommend agreeing on this at the start of any bot project.
