Technical SEO built into website development
Part of search optimisation is not about keywords or texts at all. It is about how the website is built: whether search engines can find and read every page, understand what each page is about, show it in the right language and load it fast on a phone. We build these foundations into the site during development, and we audit and fix them on existing sites.

In short
In short
- 01
Technical SEO makes a site indexable and understandable; it does not replace content or links, but without it they do not work.
- 02
Every important page should be reachable through links, return a correct status code and have its own title, description and canonical URL.
- 03
Content must be present in the HTML that search engines receive, not only after JavaScript runs in the browser.
- 04
Structured data describes the business, services, articles and FAQs in a machine-readable form — used by search engines and AI assistants alike.
- 05
For multilingual sites,
hreflangand a correct sitemap decide which language version is shown to whom.

Scope
What we set up
Crawling and indexing
- A clear URL structure that reflects the site's hierarchy, in Latin characters, without session parameters.
- One address per page: consistent rules for trailing slashes,
wwwand case, with permanent redirects from all variants. robots.txtthat closes technical sections (admin, search results, carts) and leaves content open. See XML sitemaps and robots.txt.- An XML sitemap generated automatically from the real list of pages, with language alternatives where they exist.
- Correct status codes: 404 for pages that do not exist (not the home page with a 200 code), 301 for moved pages.
Rendering
Many modern websites are built as JavaScript applications. If the text of a page appears only after scripts run, search engines may index an empty page or index it late. We deliver complete HTML to crawlers — through server rendering or prerendering — so every page's text, links and meta data are visible in the first response.
Page-level signals
- Unique
titleandmeta descriptionfor every page and every language, editable in the admin panel. - One
h1per page and a logical heading structure. - Canonical URLs that point to the main version of each page.
- Descriptive alt texts for meaningful images.
Structured data
We add structured data in JSON-LD: Organization, LocalBusiness where there is a physical location, Service, Product, Article, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList. It helps search engines display richer results and helps AI assistants cite the site accurately.
Speed and mobile usability
Search engines evaluate the experience on a phone. We optimise images, fonts and scripts, and measure Core Web Vitals on real devices rather than only in a lab test. Details on the speed optimisation page.
Multiple languages
Each language version gets its own URL and hreflang annotations pointing to its equivalents. Alternates are declared only where a translation really exists.
Auditing an existing site
For a live website, we start with an audit: a crawl of the site, Search Console data, server logs where available, and a manual review of templates. The result is a prioritised list — what blocks indexing, what wastes crawl effort, what reduces visibility — with an estimate for each fix. The checklist we use is described in technical SEO audit checklist.
What technical SEO does not do
It does not write content, choose keywords for you or build links. Those are ongoing marketing work. Technical SEO makes sure that when you invest in content, nothing on the technical side stops it from being found. For the broader plan, see SEO strategy for businesses in Azerbaijan.
What we need from you
- Access to Search Console, analytics and the site's code or hosting.
- The list of markets and languages the site targets.
- Any known history: past migrations, penalties, sudden traffic drops.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can SEO be added after the site is built?
Some of it, yes. But URL structure, rendering and the ability to edit meta data per page are much cheaper to get right during development than to change on a live, indexed site.
Does structured data improve rankings?
Not directly. It helps search engines understand and display pages, which can improve how often people click on them, and it makes the site easier for AI search tools to interpret.
How soon are technical fixes reflected in search?
Search engines need to recrawl the affected pages, which takes from days to weeks depending on the size and authority of the site.
